Fun, cheerful and very pink are these signature flamingo inflatables of GOGO, one of Europe’s most prominent summer tours & festival organizers from the Netherlands. Every summer, these floats (affectionally known as FlaminGOGOs) add an endless amount of fun to their beach and pool parties – and Handpicked is honoured to assist in the manufacturing of these pink babies!
The manufacturing process is a smooth one, as our long-term partner factory in China is very experienced in producing inflatables. However, as always, we had to work extra closely with them to ensure our order turns out as flawless as possible.
One of the things we noticed in the mass production samples was the slight difference in colour from the pre-production samples we checked. (See photo) After lengthy discussions with the factory, we later learned that it’s caused primarily due to the difference in the thickness of the material selected.
The pre-production sample was made of the factory’s existing stock material (a 0.25mm 6P PVC), which turned out to be a slightly darker pink with a tint of salmon, as compared to the 0.20mm PVC the client requested, (which was more a bright hot pink).
When printing on PVC, even a small difference in thickness of 0.05mm can alter the visual effect of the colour.
